About Us
Forest City Fencing Club (FCFC) was started in 2026 by Brandon Kennel, Vas Economopoulos and Karen Laansoo with the goal of providing a community club were fencing enthusiasts can learn, improve and play.
Our club starts where the Mustang Sword Club (formerly operated by Carol Christie and Brad Winder) leaves off. In addition to providing a welcoming and inclusive club, we aim to expand our programming to include beginner classes in all disciplines (épée, foil and sabre and wheelchair).
FCFC is a not-for-profit community sport club which runs on the dedication of the board, and club volunteers.

At FCFC, we aim to inspire individual growth through the discipline of fencing, where physical skill, strategic thinking, and personal accountability meet to foster a safe, inclusive, environment that challenges athletes and instructors to pursue excellence. We aim to uphold principles of integrity, independence, and accountability across members and staff at all levels.
